LA Cinema was founded in the year 2014 by Joseph Francis Adaikalaraj. Maris Theatre Complex, a few decades old popular building in Trichy that was closed for years, was renovated and restored and became LA Cinema's first location. Now LA Cinema consists of 8 complexes with its latest location at Thiruverumbur, featuring Tamil Nadu's first Dolby Cinema.

Our Journey
Twelve Years of Cinematic Growth
Trichy: Where It All Began
LA Cinema was founded with our first property — LA Cinema: Maris Complex in Trichy. Launched with 4 screens and later expanded to 6, it set the standard for everything that followed.
Trichy: Second Theatre
We opened our second property, LA Cinema: Sona Mina in Trichy with 4 screens, strengthening our presence in the city.
Karaikal
We expanded beyond Trichy with LA Cinema: Shamina, a 2 screen complex.
Perembalur
We continued our journey with LA Cinema: Ram, a single screen property catering to a growing audience.
Mannargudi
Our post pandemic resurgence began with LA Cinema: Shanti, a 2 screen complex symbolising renewed momentum.
Thuraiyur
We continued our expansion with a 2 screen complex at Thuraiyur, further widening our regional footprint.
Mayiladuthurai
We marked our presence in Mayiladuthurai with a modern 2 screen complex, LA Cinema: Gomathi Talkies.
Trichy: Tamil Nadu's First Dolby Cinema
A landmark year. In April, we unveiled our most iconic destination yet, a 6 screen multiplex at LA Cinema: Thiruverumbur, Trichy. It features Tamil Nadu’s first and India’s fourth Dolby Cinema. This flagship property represents the culmination of years of passion, innovation, and growth, reinforcing LA Cinema as one of Tamil Nadu’s most loved cinema destination.
